Background

Eastern Electronics, established in 1970, has committed to Taiwan’s high-reliability, high-complexity Engineering Manufacturing Services. Eastern provides SMT (Surface Mount Technology) processing, DIP hand-insertion processing, assembly, testing, and packaging – the whole spectrum of mature manufacturing services – using automated production equipment and strict quality control. We can manage all phases of a project from prototype to trial production to mass production, meeting the diverse needs of both small customers and customers needing larger volume production.

Eastern Electronics has over 50 years of R&D and manufacturing experience in Taiwan and Shanghai, China. Over the years, we have mastered manufacturing processes, serving worldwide well-known companies in industrial controls, automotive electronics, telecommunications, power & energy, instruments/medical, and other industries.

2005 Successfully entered the Japanese market with a project developing a digital music box,

2004 Began supplying digital set-top boxes for cars to be sold in Taiwan.

1996 Established Universal Electronics Co. (UEC) as a subsidiary in China with an annual output of 750,000 cable-TV tuners and set top boxes
Won an order from Brazil for 500,000 addressable pay-TV decoder boxes.
1995 Produced one-millionth cable-TV set-top boxes.
Obtained ISO-9002 quality certification.
1991 Increased working capital to USD6.64 million
1982 Developed electronic TV tuners successfully.
1980 A Taiwanese business group bought and reorganized EEC, and increased the capital to USD1.6 million. The main business was cable TV Tuner.
1970 Sarkes Tarzian, an American businessman invested and founded Eastern Electronics Co. (EEC) with a capital of USD 167,000. Mainly manufactured mechanical TV tuners and became the world's largest TV tuner supplier.
